I’m a Razorback: Why I Committed to Arkansas

The short version: After three years at LSU, I’m headed to the University of Arkansas for my final two seasons of NCAA eligibility — training with the reigning 2026 NCAA outdoor national champions.

On May 28, 2026, I entered the NCAA transfer portal. A month of visits, phone calls, and late nights weighing what I actually wanted next later, I made it official on June 29th: I’m a Razorback.

Why Arkansas

I said it in my transfer portal post: I was chasing two things — a program that could get me under four minutes in the mile, and a place that understood an athlete could be a serious competitor and a serious content creator at the same time. Arkansas checked both boxes better than anywhere else I visited.

What Arkansas brings
  • Reigning 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field national champions
  • A distance program with real depth at the mile and 1500m
  • Two full seasons of eligibility left to chase sub-4

“This isn’t about leaving LSU behind — it’s about finishing the story somewhere that gives me the best shot at the ending I want.”

What LSU Will Always Be

Three years, a 4:01.91 mile that still sits at No. 7 in LSU history, and a Guinness World Record in the three-legged mile with Hugh Carlson. None of that changes. LSU is where I became a real D1 athlete, and I’m grateful for every mile of it.

What’s Next

Two seasons. One number I’m chasing: sub-4. And the same mission I’ve had since I started making videos in a dorm room — bring track and field to people who’ve never watched a 1500m in their lives. New jersey, same mission.

Follow the training, the racing, and the content as it happens — I’ll be documenting all of it.
